Day 16: Thirteen Nights of Halloween...

ABC Family continues their tradition of the 13 Nights of Halloween. It sounds good doesn't it? ABC Family taps into the dreaded number 1, which is regarded as an unlucky number in many cultures.

Some airplanes skip a row 13, going straight from 12 to 14. Most tall buildings do the same. ABCFamily could have 12 days of Halloween...or 9. But no...they knew what they were doing...they chose 13!! You don't just want night to celebrate Halloween now...It's like Hanuaka on crack! (the creepy kind). All thanks to ABC Family!

Unfortunately, they kick it off by showing E.T. on Friday, October 19th. What a way to say "Happy Halloween," than by watching E.T. Just a stupid move on ABCFamily's part.

When you consider all of the possibilities of programming for the 13 Nights of HALLOWEEN, you can come up with a very impressive schedule. E.T. wouldn't be on that list. Nor would some of the other scheduled programs like the Scooby Doo movie, Matilda, or the Corpse Bride. These movies have nothing to do with Halloween. And it's a reach to try to present them as they do.

Can you imagine the production staff sitting around trying to come up with a schedule? In Scooby Doo, they chase criminals that wear costumes as a disguise...they wear costumes, so it must be Halloween! Corpse Bride...we'll, it's directed by the guy that made a film about Jack Skeleton and he lived in Halloween town...so it must be Halloween!

Don't even get me started on Matilda.

ABC Family also airs The Village, Stephen King's It, Casper and Wendy, The Boogeyman (worst movie ever), Poltergeist, and the Haunted Mansion. THIS is their 13 Nights of Halloween schedule!?!?

They did get one thing right. They will be showing Hocus Pocus, which is a film abuot witches on Halloween. That one fits with the 13 Nights of Halloween. The others? Not so much.
